 Well now that we know the dished to eat when we are on our trip to Sikkim, we will now have a look at the restaurants where we can get our hands on these delicacies.


1) Nimtho


Nimtho is a beautiful traditional looking restaurant in the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok. This vegan friendly restaurant is your everyday restaurant that serves almost all of the dishes talked about in this blog before, along with many more. This place is known for providing authentic food from Sikkimese culture, along with Tibetan and Nepalese. The place has a relaxed atmosphere, great ambience and tasty food.

2) Thakali
Located in the heart of the state, the Thakali restaurant is all definitely the place one would go to for the best dishes for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. This restaurant has a modern feel to its environment, while they serve you the best readitional food of the diverse cultures found in the state of Sikkim, including Nepalese and East-Indian meals.

Sikkim, a small state in northeast India, is bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Being a part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, 8,586m Kangchenjunga. Well, if we are here that means only one thing—we have another list of mouth-watering food content for us foodies! 1. Churpie We have been missing out on the Chhurpi   or  durkha, which is   a traditional cheese consumed in the Himlayan regions of Sikkim, Darjeeling. And like your favourite slushie flavor, there are two varieties of chhurpi,which are: a soft variety (consumed usually as a side dish with rice) and a hard variety (chewed like a betel nut). It is known to be native to Tibetan cultural areas, spreading to Nepal and India. 2.  Khapse  These slightly sweet and intensely addictive biscuits are usually eaten with tea as  breakfast in Sikkim.
